Our Fee Structures
We do not restrict our clients to just one option but offer a range of solutions. We offer three distinct pricing models, allowing you to select the option that best aligns with your case requirements.
The fee structures we offer are as follows:
Time recorded or time charged (Hourly rate)
Our experienced team can work on an hourly basis, with time recorded in increments. This option provides:
- Transparent billing with agreed-upon reporting points
- Cost accrual tracking for better financial oversight
- Disbursements and VAT are charged separately
This method is the preferred choice for most legal firms requiring structured billing is usually most suitable for more straightforward cases.
This selection is preferred by most legal firms.
Fixed fee
We agree a fixed amount with you and work the case to completion ensuring clarity and budget certainty. Fees are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
This method is particularly suited for:
- Partial intestacy cases
- Cases involving known missing heirs
- Estates where authorisation for expenditure is available
Contingency fee (Finder’s fee)
For cases where upfront costs are a concern, we offer a contingency-based structure. Under this model:
- We fully underwrite the research costs
- Beneficiaries pay us a percentage-based finder’s fee (typically 5% – 15% dependent on various factors)
- Ideal when formal instruction is unavailable or no one can authorise estate expenditure
This is an excellent option if no formal instruction can be given or there is no-one to directly authorise expenditure from the estate, or when executors or administrators do not wish to risk their own money in funding research.
Our fee structures are transparent and, as a matter of principle, we never incur additional charges without clearing this with clients in advance.
We have successfully assisted numerous legal firms in resolving both simple and more complex cases with our meticulous research and commitment to accuracy, whilst maintaining full transparency in our pricing across our range of services.
